Church of St John the Baptist

Yarkhill church and moat. Yarkhill church is dedicated to St John the Baptist. With exception of the west tower and the south doorway both of which are 13th century, the church was completely rebuilt in 1862 by Ainslie and Blashill. The moat in the foreground surrounds a site which has been excavated revealing the foundations of a late 12th, early 13th century building.
