St Mary's Church. Perhaps the reason for there being two churches in close proximity to each other can be explained with the layout of paths and lanes, which may have made it convenient for worshippers of the two adjacent parishes to share a common churchyard. St Mary's church stands to the NW of the former church of St Lawrence > 584385, which was gutted by fire in 1827. The restored ruins now serve as the parish hall.
