Duncannon Fort, Co. Wexford. This was built in 1586 to counter the Spanish threat. It later guarded against Napoleon, and was garrisoned during WWII. This photo shows the largest building inside the fort, which is dated 1943. The fort was disused after 1986 and was transferred to Wexford County Council in 1993. There is a sundial commemorating the prisoners taken during the 1798 rising, known as the croppie boys.
