Medieval cross 200m north west of St Mary's Church

Market Cross, Sturminster Newton The remains of the 15th century market cross - an octagonal base and four steps - can still be seen in the square. In the past, the steps were used by farmers' wives on market days to display their eggs, cheese and other produce.
